If you plan to run more than one HID grow light, you will need to use a heavy-duty contactor to take the load and strike the lamps safely, and Maxiswitch Pro Contactors will do just that.
HID lighting requires a heavy electrical load to ignite and run the lamp, and a regular domestic plug timer cannot handle the high load needed. The plug timer will become damaged and may be an electrical hazard as usually, the contacts inside the timer will weld themselves together, preventing your light from turning off. Maxiswitch Pro Contactors will allow you to manage your lighting effectively and safely by diverting the high load from the timer through a contactor or relay.
